Patrick Cronin has over 25 years of experience as a global business executive. He knows the power of a well-defined and executed plan to drive revenue growth, margin improvement and sustainable competitive differentiation. His success in the corporate environment ranges from being a ‘first mover’ in emerging markets to re-positioning product and service offerings in mature markets. Pat has extensive experience in worldwide marketing management, strategic planning and program implementation, global sales development, competitive positioning and strategic account management.
His early career was spent in the advertising agency business, where he held P&L responsibility on client accounts, and managed media and market research services. This experience included work with B2B clients like Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation, and B2C clients such as Jewel Food Stores, Pepsi-Cola, McDonald’s, Seven-Up, the US Air Force and Paramount Pictures.
Cronin moved from the agency world into more operational marketing and global product management career path. He would spend the next 14 years honing his global business skills with Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) a Fortune 100 company. After a series of high profile assignments as the senior member of the marketing team in Johnson Controls’ North American operations, Pat established the strategic marketing group for Johnson Controls International, Inc. This involved managing the planning, market development, product launch and customer satisfaction processes for company-owned branches, joint ventures and major distribution partners in over 35 countries. He led the team that established Johnson Controls’ presence in the Russian Federation and was extensively involved in JCI’s penetration of the Chinese and Indian markets. Pat was elevated to the Controls Group level to bridge the North American and International strategic planning, marketing and customer development efforts. At this level, he directed JCI’s go-to-market campaigns in the global telecom and pharmaceutical markets, managed the $45 million Global Hospitality Markets program, as well as the $35 million International Accounts and global 3rd-party service programs. Pat personally managed the multinational relationships with Motorola, GE Medical Systems (GE Healthcare) and Hyatt Hotels, among others.
